The System and Browser Interface |
Enterprise Buyer 2.0 Desktop Edition communicates with you, with an e-marketplace and, via the e-marketplace, with your suppliers. Database look-ups and calculations take place at various places in this network of systems. Where a particular process takes place can vary from system to system, and from time to time.
For convenience in this document, we shall just refer to the system. For example, when we write:
"...the system determines the sales tax due, and adds it to the displayed total cost of the Shopping Cart."
what we mean is:
"...applicable tax rates are looked up on the appropriate server, and transmitted across the network where it is added to the sum of the contents of your Shopping Cart and displayed in your browser.
Enterprise Buyer 2.0 Desktop Edition communicates with you, the user, through the Enterprise Buyer 2.0 Desktop Edition browser interface. This is displayed in the window of a normal Internet browser, such as Microsoft internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
For convenience in this document, we shall just refer to the browser. For example, when we write:
"...the browser displays a list of open Orders."
what we mean is:
"...Enterprise Buyer 2.0 Desktop Edition displays a list of open Orders in the display window of your Internet browser."
We hope that this will simplify your reading of this document.
