Enterprise Buyer 2.0 Desktop Edition Roles

Overview

Enterprise Buyer 2.0 Desktop Edition users have four major roles that are recognized by the system:

Buyers

Users who select items and fill the Shopping Carts, from which Orders are created. Buyers may be people who occasionally purchase a few items, or purchasing professionals who produce large Shopping Carts on a daily basis. Information about each user is stored in a User Profile.

Approvers Users who are responsible for approving or adjusting the Shopping Carts and Orders initiated by other users. Approvers are assigned by the Administrator and given a specified Approval Limit. A user can choose to add an additional,  ad hoc approver to work in parallel with their assigned approver. This can speed-up the approval workflow.
Reviewers Users who may be added to the workflow on an ad hoc basis by users or approvers, to review and comment on a Shopping Cart contents. Reviewers are not required to approve a Shopping Cart.
Administrator The Enterprise Buyer 2.0 Desktop Edition Administrator supervises the system workflow, assigns Buyer and Approver limits, etc. The Administrator has many other duties, including using the Enterprise Buyer 2.0 Desktop Edition Administration Tools to configure the system's users, Buying Organizations, and suppliers.
