Using SmartForms

SmartForms allow you to supply additional, optional information to a Shopping Cart item  for such things as service requests and customizable products.

If the supplier of an item or service requires extra information from the buyer, a SmartForm is created and added to the system.

When you click , to add that item to your Shopping Cart, the system opens a secondary browser window containing a blank copy of the necessary SmartForm.

  1. Enter as much (or as little) information into the form as is necessary to define your purchase.

  2. Click [Continue]

    The system carries the captured information with the Shopping Cart through the workflow process and transmits it to the supplier.

The layout of a SmartForm varies with the quantity and type of information required by the supplier. For  example:

Items in a Shopping Cart, or Order, that include a SmartForm, display this icon icon_smartForm.gif (346 bytes).

In the Shopping Cart page, you can click  icon_smartForm.gif (346 bytes)  to re-display the SmartForm and view or edit the information contained in it.
