Searching in the Catalog |
If you know an identifying word or phrase from a catalog description, such as product name or part number, then you can search directly for that information in the catalog text.
If not, then browsing down through the catalog's categories and sub-categories may be the best way to locate an item.
Enterprise Buyer 2.0 Desktop Edition provides two ways to search for items in the catalog.
Use this method to search every item description, manufacturer's and supplier's name and part number, in the catalog for specific phrase, word or number. You can use parts of a word and wildcards to extend the search.
Use this method to search the catalog and sort (or group) the results using multiple criteria. Detail searches are particularly useful when you want to make a progressive search, or to refine the results of a previous search or browse.

Long DescriptionsWhen doing a keyword search Enterprise Buyer 2.0 Desktop Edition searches the full text of the Catalog Long Descriptions (those you see on the Item Description page.) Although this takes longer than searching just the short item descriptions, it allows you to use more complex keyword search syntax to refine your search and return a shorter list of items that meet your exact requirements. |
