Introduction

Enterprise Buyer 2.0 Desktop Edition is one of the major components of your online purchasing system. Together with the Commerce One MarketSite software, it facilitates all aspects of electronic business-to-business procurement.


System Capabilities

Enterprise Buyer 2.0 Desktop Edition is a browser-based application that allows both professional and casual corporate users to perform the following operations:


Nomenclature Changes:  The terms Requisition and Purchase Order used in earlier versions are obsolete and have replaced by Shopping Cart and Order, respectively. 

In this version of this product and its documentation, the terms Shopping Cart and Order are used exclusively.


User Privileges

Enterprise Buyer 2.0 Desktop Edition recognizes a corporate purchasing workflow and hierarchy. Depending on a user's User Profile and Buying Organization membership,  they are given access to:

The information you are able to see, and the tasks you are able to perform on your system, depends upon the privileges granted to you by your Enterprise Buyer 2.0 Desktop Edition Administrator.   


Supplier Limitations

Some suppliers are fully integrated with an e-marketplace, allowing continuous, two-way communication between Enterprise Buyer 2.0 Desktop Edition and the Supplier. This allows regular and accurate updating of product pricing and inventory. 

Other, Hosted suppliers are not fully integrated. They must connect periodically to the e-marketplace, to receive Buyer's orders and send back responses. Online checks of price and purchase status are updated periodically by Hosted suppliers at a time interval agreed with your Enterprise Buyer 2.0 Desktop Edition Administrator. At other times, you have access to  only the local catalog contents and an estimated availability.
